Brief Biography:
Kwaku Oppong Asante joined the Regent University College of Science & Technology Ghana in the 2008/2009 academic year and is a Lecturer in the Department of Human Development and Psychology. He holds a BA (Hons) Psychology and Information Studies from the University of Ghana and an MPhil (Developmental Psychology) from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway. He served as Head, of Department of the Human Development &Psychology for the 2009/2010 academic. Prior to that, he served as the Campus Manager of the Roquah Campus of the Regent University during the 2008/2009 academic year.
Mr. Kwaku Oppong Asante belongs to a number of professional organizations such as the British Psychological Society (BPS), American Psychological Association (APA), Global Health Council, and the International AIDS Society (IAS). He has published in reputable journals such as BMC Public Health, Gender and Behavior, and Norwegian Journal of Human Development. He also acts as a reviewer on a number of journals and loves watching football and reading as his hobbies.
His areas of research interests include risk and resilience among children and adolescents, child and adolescent psychology, HIV/AIDS related areas, psychological issues in addiction and psychology of religion. His research proposal is currently under consideration and will soon start his Doctoral studies in the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.
