(Founder and President, Regent University College of Science and Technology)

The Rev’d. Prof Emmanuel Kingsley Larbi is the Founder and President of Regent University College of Science and Technology, Ghana. His distinguished and daring pioneering efforts led to the establishment of Central University College, Ghana, where he served as its founding President (or founding Vice Chancellor) from November 1998 until July 2003.

Professor Larbi has a very rich working experience. The positions he has held over the years include: Accounting Officer, Management Development and Productivity Institute, Ghana Business Bureau, Kumasi; Office Manager, Cementation Construction ( a British Civil Engineering Construction Company) on the White Volta and Black Volta Bridges, Ghana; Assistant Accounts Manager, Costal Services Nigeria Limited, Lagos, Nigeria; Director of Studies, International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Ministerial Training Institute (1989 to 1991); Principal, Central Christian College, Ghana (1996 to 1998).

Professor Larbi has also served as the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Sub-committee of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) which produced the Code of Conduct for the political parties towards the 2000 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

His ground breaking book, Pentecostalism: the Eddies of Ghanaian Christianity, is so far, the most comprehensive research on the origins and development of the Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity in Ghana, a work that is yet to be replicated in other African countries.

Rev. Larbi is passionate about social justice, the empowerment of the poor, matters relating to quality education at all levels, Africa’s development issues, and Africa’s leadership and cultural challenges, among others. 

He has recently established free remedial classes at Larteh Akuapem, his hometown, to assist high school graduates in the town to improve upon their grades.  His university has also, for some time, placed qualified graduate and postgraduate teachers at Kyenku Larbi D/A Junior High School, a rural community at Adimadim, near Suhum in the Ayensuano Constituency, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.  Prof Larbi and his university have also embarked on infrastructural development at the said Kyenku-Larbi Junior High School.  He has recently supported the Larteh Methodist Junior High School to improve upon its infrastructure.  He is currently leading efforts to ameliorate the perennial drinking water problem at Larteh.

Rev Larbi is an Associate Minister at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Atomic Branch, Accra, a ministry of the Church of Pentecost, Ghana.

His qualifications include Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology, from Pan Africa Christian College, Nairobi, Kenya; Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (now Africa International University), Kenya. He also holds Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.  He has done a one-year post-doctoral research at the Global Research Institute, Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California, USA. He is married with four children.
